Fragrance Oils for Personal Care

Fragrance oils for personal care: lotion, body wash, scrubs, body oil and hand care, leave-on and rinse-off, with the ceiling for each on the oil's page beside its allergen statement. Finished compositions by perfumer Cécile Hua that read through a wash and stay on skin, and verified buyers say what they made with each. By the ounce or pound, no minimum, no lead time. Tell us what you're formulating, or browse.

Leave-on and rinse-off

A lotion stays on the skin; a wash rinses off. Each is its own IFRA category with its own ceiling, and a body oil, a scrub, a hand cream and a deodorant each have theirs. These oils are composed to carry through a cream, a gel or an oil base and to hold on skin. On each oil's page, brands among our customers say what they made and how it wore.

Your ceiling, on every oil

Each oil's IFRA sheet states the most of it a lotion, a wash, a hand cream or a deodorant may carry. Those figures sit on the oil's page beside its flash point and its allergen statement, dated and sourced. The numbers for all 72 are in the table further down, for when you're comparing.

Common questions

Can one oil go across a lotion, a wash and a body oil?

Yes. A line is usually one oil across the range. Each product is its own IFRA category, so the ceiling changes; the table has them side by side.

Is a body oil or a scrub leave-on or rinse-off?

A body oil stays on the skin, so it is leave-on. A scrub is rinsed off. The IFRA Category Lookup Tool names the category by product type.

What goes on my ingredient label?

Parfum, plus any allergen the oil declares that is above threshold at your concentration. Each oil's allergen statement lists them with their share.

Will it cloud a clear gel or mist?

A fragrance oil is oil-soluble, so a clear water-based product needs a solubilizer, and the clear point is a test in your base. For a product with no oil phase, ask about a water-soluble concentrate.

How much do I use?

Within the ceiling on the oil's IFRA sheet for your category. Typical starting rates are on our Fragrance Oil Calculator.

Can you compose a body-care scent that is only ours?

Yes. Private Stock composes an original fragrance to your brief, with the same perfumer.

Who makes these oils

Every oil here carries the name of the perfumer who composed it. Our perfumers are a small, hand-picked group who work to one standard, set by Cécile Hua. Each oil is compounded in the United States to its reference, checked batch by batch, and released with a Certificate of Analysis.

Every oil's numbers for personal care: IFRA maxima, flash point, allergens, reviews, documents

Each figure is transcribed from the oil's own documents as served on its page on October 27, 2026: the IFRA 51st Amendment Regulatory Data Sheet (the maximum for each product category, and the EU Annex III allergens it declares) and the Safety Data Sheet (flash point); the review columns count the verified buyers on the oil's page who said they made personal care products with it and the strength they reported. Category 5A is body lotion, 5C hand cream, 9 rinse-off body wash and scrubs, 2 deodorant and body spray. An IFRA maximum is the ceiling for that category, not a usage recommendation; the typical rates our Fragrance Oil Calculator publishes are 1–2% for lotion and 1–3% for washes. A dash means the documents do not give that figure or no buyer has said so yet.

Can these oils go into other products?

Yes. The same oil scents a candle, a soap, a lotion, a perfume or a room, within the ceiling its IFRA sheet gives for that product category. The sheet lists all twelve categories; the table above carries the ones this page's brands read first.

Are they suited to a small launch and a larger one?

Both. Buy by the ounce to test and by the pound to produce, with no minimum and no lead time. Every batch is compounded to the same reference and released with its Certificate of Analysis, so what you sampled is what you scale.

Where do I find the IFRA and SDS documents?

On each oil's page, dated, and linked in the table above: the IFRA sheet, the Safety Data Sheet and the allergen statement. For a combined file or a document not shown there, use our document request page. To read further, our fragrance education pages.

What personal care brands tell us

Verified buyers, in their own words on the oil's page; the newest first.

  • Vanillamour · Nat W. · September 2026 · made personal care, CP soap · “This is a very elegant vanilla fragrance, perfect for wearing at night. However, it discolored my soap, so it may be better suited for candles.”
  • Aphrodisiac · Teresa · September 2026 · made perfume, personal care, CP soap, candles · “Another amazing fragrance oil! The combination of the scent notes compliment each other. My customers absolutely love this in all my products that I make with it! Cold process soap & lotion are my best sellers with Aphrodisiac.”
  • Boudoir · Robin S. · September 2026 · made personal care, candles, cosmetics, laundry & cleaning · “I can't keep my body wash, lotion and oils in stock! Everyone LOVES this fragrance! One of my customers says that he burns this candle to get rid of the fish smells when he cooks, lol!”
  • Cashmere Wood · Twila S. · September 2026 · made personal care · “New favorite in my line up. Men love this. I actually combined this with another scent and it elevates the experience.”
  • Hibiscus · Loretta R. · September 2026 · made perfume, cosmetics, personal care, laundry & cleaning · “So pretty and fresh. It isn't an overwhelming floral that triggers some of my fragrance sensitivities.”
  • Adirondack · ROBIN L. V. · August 2026 · made personal care, CP soap · “The smell is like heaven on earth. I used this in CP soap and it worked amazingly well. It accelerated normally and I was able to layer my soap mold with fall colors with no issues.”
  • Cirrus · Ezinwanne U. · August 2026 · made personal care, perfume · “This smells so divine, I’m surprised this doesn’t have more ratings. It smells like a light creamy musk, but not like a sweet gourmand and I’m very pleased about that.”
  • Gunpetal · Ezinwanne U. · August 2026 · made personal care · “To my nose it is an amber forward with leather oob, I didn’t get the metal initially. I used in a body care product and it was after sat on skin that the metal came through. So think Amber but a bit dark with leather and metal mixed in.”
