Built for the cooler season

Spices, warm woods and ambers, gourmand vanilla and caramel, evergreens and resins. Each is a stock oil we make all year that reads as the cooler months, so a limited edition can be one pound and an ongoing line reorders the same oil. The holiday page holds the festive subset; the spring and summer page the other half of the year.

Each oil's IFRA sheet gives the ceiling for a candle, a soap and a lotion; its Safety Data Sheet gives the flash point. Both sit on the oil's page, dated and sourced. The table further down lists them for every oil here, for when you're choosing; once you've chosen, the oil's own page is where to read them.

Common questions

Are these only for seasonal products?

No. Every oil here is a stock oil sold all year; the page gathers the ones that read as autumn and winter.

Which products do brands put them in?

Candles and wax melts first, then soap and body care. The table counts the verified buyers who made candles with each oil.

When should we order for a fall or winter launch?

Before the pours and the cure, with the pound in hand and the test ounce before that. Carriers and timing are on our shipping policy.

Will a spice or gourmand oil darken a light soap or wax?

It can; browning in a pale base usually comes from vanillin and a few related materials. Reviews on each oil's page say what buyers saw; a test in your formula settles it.

Do they suit a limited run and an ongoing line?

Both. There is no minimum, so a limited edition can be one pound; every oil here is made continuously, so an ongoing line reorders the same oil.

Can you compose a seasonal scent that is only ours?

Yes. Private Stock composes an original fragrance to your brief, with the same perfumer.

Who makes these oils

Every oil here carries the name of the perfumer who composed it. Our perfumers are a small, hand-picked group who work to one standard, set by Cécile Hua. Each oil is compounded in the United States to its reference, checked batch by batch, and released with a Certificate of Analysis.

Scent words are the oil's own family words from its page. Each figure is transcribed from the oil's documents as served on its page on October 27, 2026: the IFRA 51st Amendment Regulatory Data Sheet (the maximum for each product category) and the Safety Data Sheet (flash point); the review columns count the verified buyers on the oil's page who said they made candles with it and the strength they reported. Category 12 is candles, wax melts and other non-skin-contact products, 9 rinse-off soap and body wash, 5A body lotion. An IFRA maximum is the ceiling for that category, not a usage recommendation; the typical rates brands start from are on our Fragrance Oil Calculator. A dash means the documents do not give that figure or no buyer has said so yet.

Can these oils go into other products?

Yes. The same oil scents a candle, a soap, a lotion, a perfume or a room, within the ceiling its IFRA sheet gives for that product category. The sheet lists all twelve categories; the table above carries the ones this page's brands read first.

Are they suited to a small launch and a larger one?

Both. Buy by the ounce to test and by the pound to produce, with no minimum and no lead time. Every batch is compounded to the same reference and released with its Certificate of Analysis, so what you sampled is what you scale.
