Aquatic & Marine Fragrance Oils
Our aquatic and marine fragrance oils are finished compositions — top, heart and base already in place — formulated by perfumer Cécile Hua, for perfume, body care and home fragrance that smell like clean air and water. Sea breeze and ozone, a watery floral, a mineral note over clean woods: the aquatic family is what fresh smells like in modern perfumery, in a cologne, a body wash or a candle. Every oil is available by the ounce or pound with no minimum, no lead time. Tell us what you're making, or browse.

BotanicaWhat an aquatic note is
Water has no smell, so an aquatic fragrance is built from materials that suggest it: melon-and-sea-breeze molecules, ozonic notes that read as cool air, a transparent floral, a mineral or salty accord, and a base of light woods or musk so it lasts. An aqua woody perfume oil is that structure with the woods turned up. On each oil's page, perfumers and brands among our customers say what they made and how it read.
Your ceiling, on every oil
A cologne, a body wash and a candle each have their own ceiling on the oil's IFRA sheet, dated and sourced on the oil's page beside its flash point and its allergen statement. The table further down lists the ceilings for all 20 for when you're comparing.
Common questions
What is the difference between aquatic and marine?
Marine leans salty and seaweed-green, the shore; aquatic leans clean and airy, the water itself. Most oils on this page have some of both, and each oil's page says which way it leans.
Do aquatic scents last?
The top is light by nature, so the staying power comes from the base: musk and woods. The oils here are composed with one, and on each oil's page brands say how long it wore in their product.
Which product do aquatic oils suit best?
Body wash, shower gel and men's grooming take them naturally; so do cologne, room spray and a summer candle. The ceiling for each is on the oil's IFRA sheet and in the table further down.
Are these masculine scents?
Aquatic notes are the backbone of many men's colognes, and just as many unisex and women's fragrances. Our customers put the same oil in a beard oil and a body butter.
How much fragrance oil should I use?
The typical starting rates by product are on our Fragrance Oil Calculator; the limit is the oil's IFRA maximum for your product in the table further down.
Can you compose an aquatic scent that is only ours?
Yes. Private Stock composes an original fragrance to your brief, by the same perfumer.

Who makes these oils
Every oil here carries the name of the perfumer who composed it. Our perfumers are a small, hand-picked group who work to one standard, set by Cécile Hua. Each oil is compounded in the United States to its reference, checked batch by batch, and released with a Certificate of Analysis.
Every oil's numbers for aquatic products
Each figure is transcribed from the oil's own documents as served on its page on October 27, 2026: the IFRA 51st Amendment Regulatory Data Sheet (the maximum the oil may be used at in each product category, and the EU Annex III allergens it declares) and the Safety Data Sheet (flash point). An IFRA maximum is the ceiling for that category, not a usage recommendation; the typical rates brands start from are published on our Fragrance Oil Calculator. A dash means the sheets do not give that figure.

Can these oils go into other products?
Yes. The same oil scents a candle, a soap, a lotion, a perfume or a room, within the ceiling its IFRA sheet gives for that product category. The sheet lists all twelve categories; the table above carries the ones this page's brands read first.
Are they suited to a small launch and a larger one?
Both. Buy by the ounce to test and by the pound to produce, with no minimum and no lead time. Every batch is compounded to the same reference and released with its Certificate of Analysis, so what you sampled is what you scale.
Where do I find the IFRA and SDS documents?
On each oil's page, dated, and linked in the table above: the IFRA sheet, the Safety Data Sheet and the allergen statement. For a combined file or a document not shown there, use our document request page. To read further, our fragrance education pages.
What brands tell us
Verified buyers, in their own words on the oil's page; the newest first.
- Cashmere Wood · Twila S. · September 2026 · made personal care · “New favorite in my line up. Men love this. I actually combined this with another scent and it elevates the experience.”
- Hibiscus · Loretta R. · September 2026 · made perfume, cosmetics, personal care, laundry & cleaning · “So pretty and fresh. It isn't an overwhelming floral that triggers some of my fragrance sensitivities.”
- Hibiscus · Ezinwanne U. · August 2026 · made personal care · “I enjoyed this fragrance. It is one of the few where I was able to smell the tart scent of dried hibiscus. That isn’t the only thing you get, it reminds me of a tropical body wash without the coconut”
- Ultraviolet · Sweet H. S. · April 2026 · made CP soap, personal care · “This scent is right up there in my top 10 favorite fragrances of all time. I love green scents, and this one is a showstopper. It does rice slightly in my recipe and accelerates, but scent retention is super strong.”
- Cerulean · STANISLAV C. · April 2026 · made cosmetics · “I used this for perfume body mist and received great feedback”
- Jetsetter · Tiffany H. · April 2026 · made candles, cosmetics · “This was a blind buy and I can't be more thrilled about it! This is a unique fragrance that I consider unisex. I absolutely love it!”
- Botanica · Much L. A. · March 2026 · made perfume, cosmetics, personal care, laundry & cleaning · “This is a very nice botanical scent without that "bite". I would put this more in the family of Chlorophyl and Heb Garden. Think more, date night Botanical Garden.”
- Cashmere Wood · Crystal K. · March 2026 · made perfume · just right strength · “So far I have made perfume with it. Smells cozy. Definitely will be a perfect end of summer smell. The sandelwood is just the right amount. I’m going to be making candles next.”
