EPA Safer Choice Compliant Fragrance Oils

The EPA Safer Choice is a program by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that identifies and certifies products containing safer chemical ingredients. EPA Safer Choice helps consumers, businesses, and purchasers find products that perform and contain ingredients that are safer for human health and the environment. Safer Choice is an EPA Pollution Prevention (P2) program, which includes practices that reduce, eliminate, or prevent pollution at its source, such as using safer ingredients in products. When a product has the Safer Choice label, it means that every intentionally-added ingredient in the product has been evaluated by EPA scientists. Only the safest possible functional ingredients are allowed in products with the Safer Choice label.  EPA Safer Choice certification is for finished product (not fragrance oil) and determined by fragrance load.  

Safer Ingredients: Products must be formulated with ingredients that meet strict health and environmental safety standards. They avoid chemicals that may be toxic, carcinogenic, or environmentally harmful.

Performance Standards: Products certified by Safer Choice undergo rigorous testing to ensure they work as effectively as traditional alternatives, maintaining high-quality performance while reducing health and environmental risks.

Transparency: The program promotes transparency by requiring full ingredient disclosure, helping consumers understand what’s in the products they use and making it easier to choose safer options.

Label Recognition: Certified products carry the Safer Choice label, a mark of trust indicating the product has met the EPA’s high safety standards.
