ECOCERT is an international certification organization that sets standards and certifies products and processes, mainly in the areas of organic farming, natural cosmetics, textiles, and sustainable practices. Founded in France in 1991, ECOCERT’s mission is to support and promote sustainable, ethical, and eco-friendly practices through rigorous, independently-verified certification processes. ECOCERT standards for cosmetics and fragrance focus on ensuring products are environmentally friendly, ethically sourced, and safe for consumers. ECOCERT certifies products as "Natural" or "Organic" based on stringent guidelines for ingredient sourcing, processing, and packaging:

Ingredient Standards: At least 95% of the ingredients must be of natural origin for the "Natural" label, and at least 95% must be organic for the "Organic" label. Restricted use of petrochemical ingredients, synthetic dyes, and artificial fragrances. No GMO, parabens, phenoxyethanol, or silicones.

Environmental Responsibility: Emphasis on sustainable ingredient sourcing, with preference for eco-friendly, biodegradable, and non-toxic materials. Products must adhere to ECOCERT's standards for water and energy conservation during production.

Ethical Production: No animal testing, and all animal-derived ingredients must be sourced responsibly. Transparent labeling of all ingredients, allowing consumers to make informed choices.
