Plant-Based Magnolia

This smells exactly like Magnolia and makes a lovely room spray.

Smells really nice although it’s not coming through the HVAC system as strong as some other scents I’ve used on the past. Had to turn up the diffuser so it didn’t last as long as I’d hoped.

You can tell that it smells like magnolia, but has a strong fruitiness to it.

I grew up in deep South, about an hour South of Atlanta, Georgia. I lived In a town called, Sharpsburg. like the lucky few, in a grand style mansion of a home. Living right up against my Southern Antebellum house, Was a Magnolia Tree easily 20 foot high and 8 to 10 feet round. Starting out a small planted bush, it must have grown up right by this glorious house for at 50 to 75 years before I was even born. In the long summer's it was so so hot and oppressively humid that my wooden framed window had to be opened. And to my great benefit of happiness, the upper middle of that tree was right by my 2nd floor bedroom windows. Late At night when the crickets chirpped and the frogs bellowed while they chased them, I was there flipping and flopping whilst trying to ignore my uncomfortableness so I could escape the devil's weather and hopefully fall to sleep and dream of winter. The air was as still as it was drowning wet and as I was at my most miserable, the charged highly pressurized air would seemingly waltz right into my window where That dreamy steamy essential oil rose up off the entire magnolia tree into my room to dance around as I fell asleep and dreamed beautiful dreams. Oh, I would wake up a soppin wet sleepy head w hair stuck to my face, and my body stuck to the bed sheet that damp but smelling like Magnolia tree heaven. As the size of this Magnolia tree was unmatched by any in Coweta County, it produced prodigious GIANT flowering blooms (the size of a plate my Momma said) that it seemed to be from a giant filled fairtale. As I grew up and graduated, my Dad passed away so we moved to be with my Mommas kin in Fl. But I still often think and dream and remember the fragrance of that grand dame Magnolia tree next to my historical home in Georgia. I describe all these delicious details to you so that understand, I know the scent of a Magnolia tree and to say that Cecile' has captured the very life essence of that entire Magnolia tree. The big green waxy leaves, the fat alien looking seed pod with its yellow hairy stems and large beautiful white flower petals are all in the bottlem My nose and memory say to me that The smell of this fragrance is identical to every part of that magnolia tree. I open this bottle and close my eyes...I am magically transported back to being a young girl in my idyllic home, swinging on my white painted porch swing that matched the white painted housen with a our wrap around veranda. A late spring breeze in my face, in my own world, breathing in while autonomically cataloging for future reference, all those beguiling home sweet home smells. The soul gladly attached memories of the ancient house to the smells of magnolia, along with my Mother's azaleas, her yellow and white easter lillies, the holy dog woods which I cannot use an axe on my Dad said and her mysterious gardenias. I am homesick for my home and my Mother after trying this fragrance. I am going to purchase and plant a magnolia tree in her memory. So when I am older, just like with the scent of this fragrance, I will remember my life growing up in a Mayberry like existance and my Mother at her most beautiful, surrounded by plants and the majesty of that Special Magnolia Tree. But I will also make new memories telling my children why the scent of Magnolias mean so much to their Mother, too. Perhaps the smell of Magnolia will one day remind them of me. So Yes dear reader, do purchase this artful scent Magnolia, This fragrant masterpiece, a Southern antebellum fragrance IS for old memories and new.

I personally liked this scent -- I found it refreshing and botanical. However, my testers provided mixed feedback. Some thought it was citrus, others thought it smelled masculine, and yet another person thought it smelled like PineSol. We didn't end up using it.

Used in cosmetics

Most other magnolia scents are heavy on the fruity element, but this has just the right amount of sweetness. It really reminds me of being in the little town of Magnolia Springs near the coast of Alabama. It accelerated slightly, but I had plenty of time for a 2 color hanger swirl with my CP recipe. I used it at 3.5% and it's not too strong or too light.

As someone who has never had a the benefit of living around real magnolia trees, I wasn't sure exactly what to expect from this fragrance, but I couldn't be happier with this sweet, fresh gorgeous scent! It's so light and beautiful- possibly the perfect springtime scent. The floral quality is perfectly balanced - it doesn't hit you in the face, it's more like it's being brought to you on a soft breeze. Love this so much!
