Fragrance Oils for Solid & Roll-On Perfume
Our fragrance oils are finished compositions — top, heart and base already in place — formulated by perfumer Cécile Hua, for roll-on perfume, perfume oil and solid perfume. Dilute one in jojoba or fractionated coconut oil for a roll-on, or set it in beeswax and a butter for a solid, and it wears close and long without alcohol: the perfume oil format, made from a perfume oil. A roll-on or a solid has no alcohol to lift the top notes, so the fragrance reads from the heart down, closer to the skin and longer than a spray. These oils are composed with that arc, and the ones with a rich heart and base — florals, woods, amber, musk, gourmands — suit the format best. On each oil's page, perfumers among our customers say what they made and how it wore.
Your ceiling, and a place to start
Solid perfume, oil perfume and roll-on share one category on the oil's IFRA sheet with eau de parfum, so the ceiling is the perfume figure, dated and sourced on the oil's page and listed for all 72 in the table further down. A roll-on is the oil diluted in a carrier; a solid is the oil set in a wax and butter base, warmed and poured. Our Fragrance Oil Calculator turns a rate into grams for your batch.
Common questions
Which carrier oil should I use for a roll-on?
Jojoba and fractionated coconut oil are the usual choices: both are light, slow to go rancid and nearly scentless. Sweet almond and grapeseed work too. The fragrance oil disperses into any of them with stirring.
How strong should a perfume oil be?
Start from the perfume rate on our Fragrance Oil Calculator and stay under the oil's perfume ceiling in the table further down. An oil base wears softer than alcohol at the same rate, so brands tend to go toward the top of the range.
How do I make a solid perfume?
Melt beeswax with a butter or a carrier oil, let it cool below the fragrance oil's flash point, stir the fragrance in and pour into tins. The flash point is on each oil's page and in the table further down.
How long does a roll-on last on skin?
Longer than a spray of the same oil, because there is no alcohol to carry it off: hours, from the base notes. On each oil's page, brands that wore it say how long.
What goes on my label?
The allergens the oil declares, above threshold at your dosage. Each oil's allergen statement lists them with their share, so your label follows from your formula.
Can you compose a perfume oil for our brand?
Yes. Private Stock composes an original fine fragrance to your brief, with the same perfumer, and you reorder it by the pound.

Who makes these oils
Every oil here carries the name of the perfumer who composed it. Our perfumers are a small, hand-picked group who work to one standard, set by Cécile Hua. Each oil is compounded in the United States to its reference, checked batch by batch, and released with a Certificate of Analysis.
Every oil's numbers for solid and roll-on perfume
Each figure is transcribed from the oil's own documents as served on its page on October 27, 2026: the IFRA 51st Amendment Regulatory Data Sheet (the maximum the oil may be used at in each product category, and the EU Annex III allergens it declares) and the Safety Data Sheet (flash point). An IFRA maximum is the ceiling for that category, not a usage recommendation; the typical rates brands start from are published on our Fragrance Oil Calculator. A dash means the sheets do not give that figure.

Yes. The same oil scents a candle, a soap, a lotion, a perfume or a room, within the ceiling its IFRA sheet gives for that product category. The sheet lists all twelve categories; the table above carries the ones this page's brands read first.
